Frequently Asked Questions
Everything buyers ask about materials, specifications, MOQs, shipping and certifications — in one place.
General
What we make, who we supply, and how we work.
What does NexoMask supply?
We are a factory-direct manufacturer of dry sheet-mask substrates (Tencel, bio-cellulose, seaweed alginate, binchotan charcoal, cotton and non-woven) and eco packaging. We supply fabric, die-cut sheets and finished private-label masks to skincare brands, distributors and OEM/ODM factories.
What is the difference between a dry and a wet sheet mask?
A dry mask is an unsoaked substrate that you saturate with your own formula, giving you full control over the serum and a longer shelf life. A wet mask arrives pre-soaked and ready to use. We supply the substrate for both, and can fill and seal sachets if you prefer a finished product.
Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?
We are factory-direct. Production runs at our partner facilities in China and South Korea under cosmetic-GMP controls, and our sourcing team manages quality, documentation and logistics for you.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. We ship to brands in 40+ countries by air and sea, and can quote FOB, CIF, DDP or EXW depending on your preference and destination.
Can I get samples before placing a bulk order?
Absolutely. Our $19.90 Sample Kit includes 5-8 fabric swatches, and we provide paid custom samples so you can test saturation and wear with your own formula before committing.
Materials
Choosing the right substrate for your line.
Which material is best for a premium skincare line?
Bio-cellulose is our most premium option thanks to its second-skin fit and high serum retention. Tencel 40 gsm is an excellent alternative with a plush, luxurious feel at a lower cost. Both are used widely in high-end K-beauty lines.
What is the difference between Tencel and bio-cellulose?
Tencel is a botanic cellulose fabric spun from wood pulp; bio-cellulose is a fermented hydrogel. Bio-cellulose clings more closely and holds more serum, while Tencel is more economical and scales more predictably.
What is a seaweed or alginate substrate?
It is a marine-derived fiber blended with cellulose that develops a cool, gel-like film when wet. It is popular in K-beauty for its comforting 'moisture wrap' feel and strong sustainability story.
What is binchotan charcoal?
It is activated Japanese ubame-oak charcoal bonded into a soft sheet. It adsorbs excess oil and impurities, giving a purifying, detox-style treatment with a premium 40 gsm feel.
Are the materials suitable for sensitive skin?
Our substrates are soft, lint-controlled and produced under OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and ISO 22716 processes. We recommend testing with your finished formula, and we can supply COA and skin-safety documentation.
Specifications
GSM, shapes, sizes and performance.
How do I choose the right GSM?
GSM sets the sheet's weight and feel. Use 25-30 gsm for light, transparent everyday masks, and 35-40 gsm for richer, more cushioned treatments. Always pair GSM with a measured absorption figure, since materials differ.
What shapes and sizes are available?
We offer full-face, eye patch, lip, neck, hand and custom die-cut shapes, plus cleansing towels, cotton pads and small facial cloths in standard sizes. Custom sizes are available from a dieline or drawing.
Can you match a product I already sell?
Yes. Send us a physical sample or a dieline file and we will match the material, weight, cut and packaging as closely as possible, or propose an improved specification.
What is absorption rate and why does it matter?
It is how much serum a sheet holds relative to its own dry weight. Higher absorption means more essence delivered to the skin and a mask that stays wet for the full wear time.
Sustainability
Biodegradability, packaging and ethics.
Are your substrates biodegradable?
Yes. All our substrates are plant- or marine-derived and biodegradable, and they are plastic-free. Biodegradability timelines and test reports are available per material.
How long does biodegradation take?
Typically 30-60 days under industrial composting conditions, depending on the material — around 30 days for seaweed alginate and 45-60 days for Tencel. Ask us for the specific test standard and timeline.
Is the packaging plastic-free?
We offer paper-based and compostable pouch options, FSC-certified cartons and soy-based inks. Whatever your sustainability claim, we will make sure the packaging supports it rather than undermine it.
Are the materials vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. Our substrates are plant- or marine-based, vegan and cruelty-free, with no animal-derived ingredients.
Ordering
MOQs, samples, payment and terms.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
MOQ depends on the material and tooling. Many substrates start from 5,000-10,000 pieces using a stock shape, with higher minimums for custom die-lines and full OEM/ODM programs.
How does the sample kit work?
The $19.90 Sample Kit ships 5-8 fabric swatches so you can compare materials hands-on. Custom swatch sets with your target GSM and shape can be arranged for qualification testing.
What payment methods and terms do you accept?
We accept bank transfer (T/T) and major payment methods, and commonly work on a deposit-plus-balance basis. Terms are confirmed in the formal quotation.
Do you require a deposit?
A reasonable deposit against tooling or materials is standard; the balance is due before shipment. We do not ask for full payment before you have approved samples.
Can I mix materials in one order?
Yes. Many brands combine two substrates — for example a Tencel core line and a bio-cellulose hero SKU — within a single quotation and production schedule.
Shipping & Lead Time
Production timing, freight and documentation.
What are your lead times?
Standard production is around 15-20 days after deposit and artwork approval. Custom die-cut tooling adds 60-90 days. We confirm realistic lead times in writing with your quotation.
Which Incoterms do you support?
We quote FOB, CIF, DDP and EXW, and will recommend the option that best fits your destination, volume and customs setup.
Do you handle customs documentation?
Yes. We prepare commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin and any test or certification documents required for your market.
Can you ship to Amazon FBA or a 3PL warehouse?
Yes. We routinely ship to FBA and third-party logistics warehouses, and can label and pack to your required specification.
Customization & Private Label
Shapes, dielines, filling and OEM/ODM.
Do you offer custom die-cut shapes?
Yes. We produce custom die-cut shapes — full-face, eye, lip, neck, hand and fully bespoke designs — from a dieline file (AI, PDF or DXF).
Do you provide dieline files?
We can supply a reference dieline PDF for any product, and release production-ready AI/DXF vector files after order confirmation and artwork approval.
Can you pre-load essence or fill sachets?
Yes. We can pre-soak sheets with your formula, fill and seal sachets, and deliver retail-ready packs in addition to dry substrate.
Do you support private label and OEM/ODM?
Yes. We support private label and full OEM/ODM programs, from dieline artwork and packaging design to finished, retail-ready products.
Can you develop a new material specification for us?
Yes. Send us a performance brief — target absorption, feel, GSM, cost and sustainability goals — and our team will propose and prototype a specification.
Certifications & Quality
Compliance, testing and documentation.
What certifications do you hold?
Our substrates are produced under OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and ISO 22716 (Cosmetics GMP) processes, with FSC-certified fiber for Tencel and vegan status across the range.
Can you provide a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?
Yes. A COA, heavy-metal and microbial test reports and batch traceability records are provided per shipment on request.
Are you ISO 22716 / GMP compliant?
Yes. Production runs under ISO 22716 cosmetics GMP controls, with incoming, in-line and outgoing (AQL) inspections.
Do you provide OEKO-TEX certificates?
We share OEKO-TEX documentation covering the relevant materials. Official third-party certificates are issued by the certifying body and provided with your quotation or shipment.
